Call for papers for Academic Colloquium

 

This call is aimed at researchers, professors and professionals who wish to participate in the International Academic Colloquium "Students4Change: Social Entrepreneurship in Academia".

 

Students4Change: Social Entrepreneurship in Academia is an international project formed by a consortium of 15 Universities, 10 from Latin America and 5 from Europe, co-founded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Our project seeks to improve the quality and relevance of academic programs aimed at the development of competences in Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship in Latin American Institutions of Higher Education, to increase the capacity to solve the urgent social problems that affect our region.

 

The present Academic Colloquium will take place on August 26 and 27 of 2019, within the framework of the Final Conference of the Students4Change project that will be held at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe (Mexico City).

 

All applicants interested in participating shall send an abstract that includes title, keywords, as well as a description of their contribution to the subject of entrepreneurship and social innovation in the academic field. The maximum length of this abstract is 500 words and must be written in Spanish or English languages.

 

We recommend to the applicants to classify their proposals in one of the following thematic axes:

 

a) Health and well-being

b) Environmental protection and food safety

c) Inclusion and Education

d) Equity and development

 

If the Organizing Committee of the Colloquium accepts the proposal, the complete papers will be presented the same day of the Academic Colloquium. Subsequently, these papers will be published in the Proceedings of the Academic Colloquium.

 

 

Important dates:

May 17, 2019: deadline for presentation of abstracts

 

June 8, 2019: confirmation of selected abstracts.

 

August 16, 2019:  Sending of the full paper.

 

August 26 and 27, 2019: presentation at the Academic Colloquium.

 

 

Review process:

 

  • Only proposals whose abstract does not exceed 500 words and is written in English or Spanish will be accepted. Proposals written in other languages will not be accepted.

  • The proposals will be selected by a team of experts consisting of three people belonging to the project "Students4Change: Social Entrepreneurship in Academia.

  • Criteria for the selection of proposals: innovative character, originality, relevance for the academic field and adaptation to our thematic axes.

  • All proposals must include the author's name (or authors), academic or professional affiliation and contact information.

  • To be included in the Program of the Colloquium, the selected participants must present the full text (maximum 5000 words) of their paper before August 16, 2019.

Abstract Guidelines

 

  • Full name of the author, affiliation and contact information

  •  

  • Language: the abstract must be submitted in English and Spanish.

  •  

  • The title should be informative about the topic that will be discussed.

  •  

  • Maximum extension: 500 words in ARIAL 12 with justified alignment and line spacing of 1,5 lines.

  •  

  • Keywords: maximum of 5.

 

Paper Guidelines

  • Language: Spanish or English.

  •  

  • Maximum extension: 5,000 words in ARIAL 12 with justified alignment and line spacing of 1,5 lines.

  •  

  • The upper and lower margins should be 2.5 mm and the left, and right margins should be 3 mm.

  •  

  • The titles of the sections of the paper should be written in Arial 12, in bold and with alignment on the left.

  •  

  • References will be cited in APA style.

  •  

  • Footnotes should be reduced to a minimum, numbered consecutively with Arabic number format and Arial 10 letter and placed at the bottom of the page.

  •  

  • All paragraphs must be formatted with 1.5 lines spacing. A blank line must be included before the title of each section.

  •  

  • The figures and tables should be included in the text and numbered separately. Illustrations should be. The titles must be below the figures and above the tables and must be written centred in Arial 10. A blank line should be left before and after the figures and tables.

  •  

  • The paper must include an Introduction section and a Conclusion section.
